CHARLESTON, WV -

Ryan Wall and Justin Gaull have been selected to head a pair of new specialized business programs offered through the West Virginia Small Business Development Center.

Wall is the manager of the export/manufacturing program, a newly created post while Gaull manages the Innovation-Technology program.

The export/manufacturing initiative provides businesses with technical assistance to increase exporting and manufacturing. As statewide liaison, Wall focuses on evaluating the export capabilities of WVSBDC's small business clients; developing foreign market strategies; and coordinating and leveraging resources of other export service providers.

He earned his master of arts degree in international relations from the University of Essex in England. He also holds a master of business administration from Wheeling Jesuit University.

He previously directed export programs for the West Virginia High Technology Consortium Foundation, the nonprofit that develops the ability of the region's high-technology businesses to provide products and services to the global marketplace.

He's also held executive positions with technology companies in private industry and operated his own mobile app design firm.

Gaull's In-Tech program focuses on the needs of technology-based and innovation-driven small businesses. The initiative was introduced by WVSBDC last year.

A native of White Sulphur Springs, Gaull graduated from the University of Charleston with a bachelor's degree in environmental science with emphasis on communications.

Gaull began working in the health care industry, advancing to the post of vice president for program development and later joined the West Virginia Division of Tourism as a marketing specialist.

In 2011, he accepted the post of business coach with WVSBDC and in 2012 was selected as West Virginia State Star, an honor given by the Association of Small Business Development Centers to recognize outstanding performers in each state.

The WVSBDC, part of the West Virginia Development Office, drives economic development by offering entrepreneurs and small businesses cost-effective coaching and technical assistance.

The West Virginia SBDC is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
