Bishop Donahue Students Honor Classmates Killed in Plane Crash With Blood Drive
Bishop Donahue students are keeping the memory alive of two of their own.
In 2005, tragedy struck Bishop Donahue High School after a plane crash in Coney Island, New York claimed the lives of two of their students and one parent. JoBeth Gross, Danielle Block and her father, Courtney, were killed in the crash. The "Three Angels Blood Drive" was held on Thursday afternoon in the school gymnasium, where several students along with community members, donated blood in memory of the lives lost.
The students have held the blood drive for years, and they also hold a "Tenneyball" tournament in the students' memory.
