The West Liberty baseball team swept a four-game weekend series from the University of Virginia at Wise, by winning both games of a double-header on Sunday at Kovalick Field.
Jon-Michael Brunner provided the only run in Game one, sending a one-out single through the right side of a drawn-in infield in a 1-0 victory in eight innings. It was the third consecutive win in the final at-bat.
The Hilltoppers didn't need any heroics in Game two, coming away with a 15-5 victory for the 20th win of the season.
Ohio Valley products D.J. Busby and Tim Mirandy did most of the damage for the Hilltoppers. Busby, the former St.Clairsville Red Devil, banged out four hits in five at-bats, driving in two runs. Mirandy, the former Wheeling Central Maroon Knight went 3-for-4 with four RBI.
