The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is warning consumers that purchased Tyler Mountain Water bottled water in the 3, 4 and 5 gallon sizes recently bottled April 17-18 could possibly have been contaminated with total Coliform and E. Coli Bacteria.
Tyler Mountain Water distributes to locations in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, Virginia, Ohio and Maryland.
Both total Coliform and E. Coli are result of possible contamination by human or animal wastes. The microbes from these diseases can cause diarrhea, cramps, nausea, headaches, or other symptoms.
Only customers who received deliveries of water from Aqua Filter Fresh should be concerned about the recall, according to the DEP. The company currently is working to replace the possibly contaminated water.
Anyone who experiences health problems is advised to seek medical attention. General guidelines and ways to lessen the risk of infection by microbes are available from EPA's Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 1-800-426-4791.
