St.John Central starting pitcher Hannah Absolom struck out 13 Paden City hitters and drove in three runs, which included a two-run HR, in the Irish 5-1 victory over the Wildcats in the OVAC Class A championship game.

The win marked the third straight championship for the Irish.

In Class 5A, John Marshall defeated Indian Creek 6-4 for a third straight big school crown.

Steubenville Catholic blanked Bellaire 8-0 to repeat as Class 3A champs, and chalk up the sixth title in school history.

Steubenville Big Red won the school's first OVAC softball crown with a 4-2 win over Harrison Central.

Wheeling Central won the school's 12th OVAC softball championship with a come-from-behind 5-4 win over Shadyside.  The 12 OVAC titles is one shy of Bishop Donahue's OVAC-record 13 softball championships.
