Steubenville Police Say Two Children Found in Backseat of Car Used in Drive-By Shootings

STEUBENVILLE - Three people are behind bars Monday and facing multiple charges after an investigation of shots being fired from a car led to the discovery of two children in the backseat of the suspects' vehicle.

On Sunday, Steubenville police received a call about shots being fired in the area of Sixth and Slack streets from a man who said he was being shot at by someone in a silver Impala with the rear windshield broken out. As police were searching for the vehicle, they reportedly heard more shots fired.

They later found the silver Impala on South Eighth Street, and inside of the car police said were Mychal Matthews , Brittany Moore, Cherelle Feaster and two children. A Smith and Wesson 9 mm gun was also reportedly found in the center console along with two magazines, five live rounds, three spent casings, nine stamp bags of suspected heroin and a spoon, a bag of suspected cocaine and nine needles.

Mychal Matthews is charged with felonious assault and several other pending charges. Moore is charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug abuse instruments and child endangerment. Feaster is charged with possession of cocaine, possession of drug abuse instruments and child endangerment.
