The man wanted for questioning for his alleged involvement in the murders of three women is back in Virginia as of Tuesday.

According to Ohio County Prosecutor Scott Smith, Charles Severance started his journey back to Louden County Monday night, after being transferred out of the Northern Regional Jail.

Last week, the West Virginia Supreme Court denied a stay of extradition for Severance.

Severance was being held in Wheeling for a weapons violation. Severance's lawyer has argued that the firearms warrant is a sham, and a pretext to hold him related to unsolved Alexandria killings despite a lack of evidence.

Alexandria Police haven't named Severance a suspect in any of three fatal shootings, which occurred between 2003 and February of 2014.
