The Ohio County Sheriff's Office found and arrested Darion Frazier, who they believe stabbed a woman early Thursday morning in Martins Ferry, around 1 p.m. Thursday thanks to a tip from the public.

Martins Ferry Police believe the stabbing was the case of an angry ex-boyfriend coming back to confront his former girlfriend, and they believe Frazier entered her apartment at Jaycee Manor by breaking a window at 12:48 a.m. Thursday.

They argued, it escalated, and without her even realizing it, he had pulled a knife.

"An altercation began, " said Police Chief John McFarland. "The victim thought that she was being punched. But later she learned she wasn't being punched, she was being stabbed." In the end, the woman was left bleeding on the floor with more than a dozen stab wounds all over her body.

The woman, whose name is not being released, was admitted to an undisclosed hospital in the area, and police said she is expected to survive.
