Wheeling Businesses Join Forces in Weekend Fundraiser for Crittenton Services
Mothers' Day weekend has arrived, and Ohio Valley residents can help one local organization dedicated to serving young women by simply purchasing a flower.
Crittenton Services has teamed up with Ye Olde Alpha and Elm Grove Flowers to raise awareness and money for the services they provide. Anyone who eats at the Alpha Saturday or Sunday can make a donation to purchase a flower from the hostess with the proceeds going to Crittenton and the young women and children they serve.
Crittenton is a behavioral health agency serving more than 650 young women, children and families from all 55 counties of West Virginia. Their residential program is the only licensed maternity care treatment facility in the state, designed for girls ages 12-18. According to their website, while their program specializes in the needs of pregnant/parenting young women, up to 30 percent of clients are neither, but are referred to Crittenton because of the gender-specific, trauma-informed environment and treatment.
