The St.Clairsville boys and Wheeling Park girls took home overall team titles today at the Cal Giffin OVAC Track Meet at St.Clairsville High School.
The Red Devils were led by speedster Jaylon Brown, who won three gold medals. Brown swept the sprints and won the long jump, which he just started doing this week. The Youngstown State football recruit won the 100 with a time of 10.81, and the 200 with a time of 22.24. The Cambridge boys finished second overall, thanks to a great showing from Erikk Snell, who won both hurdle events.
The Wheeling Park girls 4x2 and shuttle hurdle team won championships, and Lauren Dickerson won the discuss with a thrown of 121 feet. Morgantown was second behind the Lady Patriots in 5A and overall, followed by Martins Ferry.
The Cambridge boys won the 5A championship, by three points over Wheeling Park. The Martins Ferry boys finished nehind St.Clairsville in the 4A standing, but the Purple Rider girls won 4A over Oak Glen. Linsly won 3A boys, with Bellaire second. Steubenville Catholic won the 3A girls division, with Fort Frye finishing second. Caldwell won the 2A/A boys title, with St.Johns Central winning another 2A/A girls championship.
