Happy Tails Pet Salon in McMechen has come up with a creative way to raise money for shelter pets in Marshall County.
"Parole-a-Pooch" was the idea of Happy Tails owner Terri Lindsey. Lindsey has transformed her shop into a pet jail for dogs that have committed "crimes." "We have one dog, his crime is he can't hold his licker because he licks all the time," said Happy Tails owner Terri Lindsey.
Sammy was arrested on charges of bed hogging, and according to his owners, he is a repeat offender. Sammy and other dogs participating in the Parole-a-Pooch fundraiser came to Happy Tails today for processing. "Owners let us arrest their dog and then they raise their bail, and today is the day of processing where they come and get their mug shot and their paw print taken," said Lindsey.
Pet owners are encouraged to raise bail money for their pets, which will serve as a donation to the Marshall County Animal Shelter.
WTRF is proud to be a sponsor of the Parole-a-Pooch fundraiser.
