Ohio County teachers, students, and community members gathered at the Wheeling Park High School track Saturday for the Steenrod-Triadelphia Wellness Walk.
The purpose of the walk was to encourage kids to be more physically active.
Steenrod Elementary Wellness Coordinator Kathy Karras believes well-ness is important for our youth and should be recognized.
"Physical habits generally involve regular daily activity. Our kids today seem to spend a lot of time, not all of them, but spend a lot of time sitting, maybe playing video games and things like that where we want them up and active."
Ohio County Magistrate Harry Radcliffe was also at the Wellness Walk, and he hopes all West Virginians understand the importance of diet, exercise and a healthy lifestyle in our youth.
