Sally Susman Resigns from Raleigh County Board of Education
RALEIGH COUNTY -
Raleigh County Board of Education member Sally Susman revealed her resignation exclusively to 59News on Tuesday.
According to Raleigh County Board of Education President Rick Snuffer, Susman has been absent from board meetings for more than two months now.
Her absence has created a buzz within the community, and many were wondering why she wasn't present for meetings. Family members of Susman said that her letter of resignation will be emailed to the Raleigh County Board of Education at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3. The letter sites health concerns as the reason for resigning.
Susman has served as a public figure both on the board of education and as a member of the House of Delegates. Her resignation is effective July 1, 2014.
Board President Rick Snuffer said that after receiving Susman's resignation, that the board as decided to hold off on taking any action to replace Susman until after her resignation goes into effect. Snuffer did say that the board will accept applications in the meantime, but a vote will not be held until their meeting in July.
