Moundsville Native and WTRF Reporter Paige Madden Crowned Miss West Virginia

FAIRMONT - The 70th annual Miss West Virginia competition was held on Tuesday at Fairmont State University, and crowned as 2014's Miss West Virginia was Moundsville native and WTRF reporter Paige Madden.

In all, three Ohio Valley natives won awards at the event, as Miss Wheeling, Ashley McLaughlin, was named first runner-up, and June Braunlich of Wheeling was crowned as Miss West Virginia's Outstanding Teen.

Madden will now go on to compete in the Miss America pageant in September to represent the mountain state. The Miss West Virginia pageant organization awarded over $25,000 in scholarships and $10,000 in prizes to the participants.
