West Virginia Electric making the shift toward natural gas

Fairmont-based West Virginia Electric will begin providing electrical services to the Marcellus and Utica Gas fields in West Virginia, Western Pennsylvania and Ohio, the company announced June 30.

"We are excited about now being able to offer complete electrical solutions to the developing Marcellus and Utica gas industry,” said Denny Toothman, president of West Virginia Electric. “Geographically being located in Fairmont, West Virginia, puts us right in the middle of this activity which will add to our ability to provide value to our customers."

West Virginia Electric is an electrical contracting group maintained by Industrial Resources. Also based in Fairmont, Industrial Resources is is a full-service engineering, design, manufacturing and construction company with more than 65 years of experience in the mining industry.

Wayne Stanley, West Virginia Electric CEO, also said, "With our commitment to safety and vast experience over the past 60 years providing turn-key electrical contracting to the coal industry we are well positioned to provide these types of service to the gas industry."
