CVS Pharmacy in Downtown Wheeling All Clear After Bomb Threat Friday Evening

Posted: Updated:
A CVS pharmacy in Wheeling was the location of a bomb threat Friday evening.

The CVS on Market Street in Downtown Wheeling is all clear after three bomb dogs were brought in following a phone threat into the store.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. and Wheeling Police closed Market Street for a short time to let the dogs investigate the area.

Wheeling Police tell us the caller asked the cashier to load up $500 onto pre-paid Green Dot Debit cards or he would blow up the store.

Nothing was found, and Wheeling Police say they just took the necessary precautions after receiving word of the threat.

Also Friday, five bomb threats on the same nature were called into CVS pharmacies there.

They happened in Teays Valley, Crosslanes, two locations in Huntington and one in Ashland, Kentucky.

In all of the cases, the caller is demanding money be put on the pre-paid Green Dot cards or the stores will be blown up.

Nothing was found in those locations, either.
