Juvenile Charged With Drug Trafficking After Steubenville Traffic Stop
A traffic stop in Steubenville resulted in the arrest of a juvenile for allegedly trafficking in drugs early Friday morning.
Steubenville police pulled over a car with three people inside on Friday, and when the officer approached the car, he said he could smell a strong odor of marijuana. Police say the driver, Chelsey McCannis, admitted that there were some marijuana roaches in the center console. After further searching the car, police reportedly found a bag with heroin inside of smaller baggies equaling 19 bags in total on the passenger side where the juvenile was sitting.
The 17-year-old was taken to juvenile detention for trafficking in drugs. The rear passenger, Aaron Thompson had an active bench warrant and was issued a citation for possession of marijuana. McCannis was released and cited for display of plates and possession of marijuana.
