12 Without Housing After Roof Collapse in Marshall County

A dozen people are without a home after a roof collapsed at a housing complex in Moundsville.

According to Detective Sgt. Don DeWitt, the house at 7th and Juniper Streets was divided into four apartments, three of which were occupied at the time of the collapse. DeWitt says a baby and two toddlers were in the complex when the roof collapsed around 8:00 a.m. Monday morning.

No injuries were reported.

Authorities say a combination of recent wind, rot and weather may have contributed to the collapse.

Officials are currently trying to arrange temporary housing through the Red Cross until more permanent housing can be arranged.
