Two people were recently arrested in Fairview, Ohio after using heroin in the middle of the day in a McDonalds. The security camera caught the whole thing on tape.
In the video, the woman moves to the edge of the booth, appears to snort something, hands it to the man across from her, who goes to the bathroom. When he comes back, it’s clear something is wrong.
The woman pulls out a Narcan syringe and gives it to him right there in the restaurant. She does it for about three minutes, eventually bringing him back.
Police Lieutenant Paul Shepard said this is proof of just how bad the heroin problem is.
“It’s so prevalent, someone feels comfortable being in a public restaurant, in the middle of an afternoon. To ingest and inject it, overdose, and then have the means to save themselves? It’s mind boggling,” said Lieutenant Shepard.
So, what’s it going to take to stop the vicious cycle? Police say finding dealers and cracking down.
Shepard added that while Narcan saves lives, it does not cure an addiction.
