2 Injured in 2 Vehicle Accident in Weirton, WV

Two people were injured in a two vehicle accident at the intersection of WV Rt. 2 and Kings Creek Road.

According to Lt. Chuck Stanley, Lorin Murray, 73 of Chester, was driving Northbound on WV Rt. 2 approaching the intersection of Kings Creek Road. That’s when Shelba Hubbard, 63 of Wellsburg, heading westbound on Kings Creek Road, was stopped at the intersection of WV Rt. 2, where a stop is required.

Stanley said Hubbard attempted to make a left turn onto WV Rt 2, pulling into the traffic lane immediately in front of Murray‘s on-coming car.

The front end of Murray‘s car struck the front driver’s side of Hubbard’s car, causing extensive damage to both vehicles.

Both drivers were transported by ambulance from the scene to the hospital, along with a passenger in Murray‘s car, for treatment for injuries sustained in the accident.

Both cars were towed from the scene.

Weirton Area Ambulance and Oakland VFD assisted at the scene.

Hubbard is considered to have Failed to Yield the Right-of-Way.
