2 Plead Not Guilty to Rape Charges, Bond Reduced for 1 in Jefferson County

Three people indicted by the Jefferson County Grand Jury appeared in court Wednesday morning.The 18-year-old woman charged with raping a 2-year-old baby pleaded not guilty to her charges Wednesday. After being indicted by the Jefferson County Grand Jury, Abigail Mann pleaded not guilty to rape, pandering sexually oriented matter involving a child and illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material.

Attorney Aaron Miller asked for a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity plea to be reserved until she has time to speak with her attorney who was not present. 

Her bond remains at $200,000 and a trial date has been set for July 28th.

18-year-old Jacob Greathouse is facing charges of rape and gross sexual imposition after allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl. 

He pleaded not guilty to those charges in a Jefferson County courtroom Wednesday after being indicted by the grand jury.

Greathouse was arrested back in April for the alleged incident that occurred at a house in Steubenville. His bond remains at $100,000 and a trial date has been set for July 7th.

He once led the Steubenville Fire Department as the Chief but Wednesday, John Mencer was in court facing charges of rape, sexual battery and gross sexual imposition.

Mencer allegedly raped a 5-year-old from June to August 2014. 

His bond was reduced from $500,000 to $200,000. Prosecutor Jane Hanlin asked for a no contact order for the child.
