Folks in the Wheeling area are in for a weekend of amazing Christmas music, thanks to the music department at Wheeling Park High School.
The 21st Annual Festival of Sound will kick off Thursday night at the J.B. Chambers Performing Arts Center.
350 students will take part in this year’s show, that promises something for everyone.
The theme is a “Holiday to Remember”. It will feature several ensembles playing everything from pop music to classical– as well as jazz and vocal.
“This is the best and most well run and most prolific type of concert experience of this caliber I have ever seen for a high school and people in this area and far beyond should come and see it,” said Director of Bands David Alfred.
“What I really like about it is that it’s a really special time of year for the music department to come together and make beautiful music and spread Christmas joy to the entire community,” said band student Allison L’Ecuyer.
“If you love music, you will love this and most people love this,” said band student Richard Cummings
There will be three shows this weekend. The first will be tomorrow evening followed by another on Friday night.
The final show will be Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m..
