The devastation left across the Mountain State by June’s historic flooding has inspired people all across the nation to lend a helping hand.

Now the band 3 Doors Down is adding their support before playing a show in Charleston later this month.

John Roberts from Mountain Mission says he received a phone call from the band, saying they were moved by the all the devastation and they wanted to help out, so they gifted the organization with $10,000 to go toward their Hope Project.

“It’s exciting that someone at their level would think of us and trust us with $10,000 to help these families in need,” said Roberts.

The band is playing at the Charleston Municipal Auditorium on August 26 and they plan to present a check to the organization at the concert.

“What we’re hoping is this will energize other groups to get involved,” said Roberts. “The work is not done. We’re far from getting all these families back in their homes.”

Tickets to the concert are still available.
