An Ohio man is facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 651 pounds of marijuana, worth nearly $3 million, following a traffic stop in Clermont County.
Troopers stopped a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe, with Ohio registration, for speed and following too closely violations on State Route 32 eastbound, near milepost 9, at 9:09 a.m., on Thursday. A Patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle and a probable cause search revealed the contraband.
The driver, Jermaine Jackson, 33, of Gallipolis was incarcerated in the Clermont County Jail, and charged with possession and trafficking in marijuana, both second-degree felonies.
If convicted, he could face up to 16 years in prison and up to a $30,000 fine.
