Steubenville Police continue to investigate three separate incidents of shots fired that all happened within eight hours of each other Sunday.
Police said the first one happened around 3 p.m. Sunday in the area of Oregon and Ohio where they found one shell casing.
One hour later, officers responded to South Fourth Street where a witness said a black male in his early twenties with dreadlocks, wearing a white t-shirt and dark colored pants ran from the scene after firing the shots.
The last shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Sunday when officers found evidence of shots fired at the Bridgeview Apartments on North Seventh Street. Officers said a car was hit several times, leaving dents in the car and shattering the windshield.
There was also a bullet hole in the south entrance of the apartment building. Several shell casings were found in the alley that runs parallel to Seventh Street.
William Walker grew up in Steubenville and has lived in the apartment building for three years. He said he’s had enough and is now getting his stuff together so that he can leave town.
“I’ve seen good and bad. It used to be an awesome place where little kids could run around and not have to worry about it,” said Walker. “I was a 5-year-old and I could leave my parents house and go across the street to the corner and not have to worry about somebody running me down.”
No arrests have been made and all three incidents are still under investigation.
