A first grade student from Shadyside passed away on Monday.
Noah Brown was seriously injured on Saturday in a tragic accident.
Superintendent John Haswell said he talked to Noah’s parents, Janell and Rob, on Monday evening, who said “We want to thank everyone for their support, and understand that this is a time for grieving, and we appreciate the thoughts, prayers and well-wishes.”
Haswell released a comment as well: “On behalf of Shadyside Schools, our thoughts and prayers and support go out to the Brown family at this tragic time. The community of Shadyside will do whatever they can to to support the family during this difficult time.”
On Sunday night, hundreds of people from the community gathered for a prayer vigil for the six-year-old boy, who was a student at Jefferson Elementary School.
Haswell said he will make grief counselors available for the staff and students at all three buildings in the school district.
Noah is survived by his parents and three siblings.
