Does your dog bark, jump up on people or pull on his leash?
The owner of a new business in Wheeling, “Absolutely Pawsitive,” says there are ways to make your dog a better citizen.
Nikki Anderson says typical obedience classes don’t cover all the skills needed.
This Sunday (January 25) she’s holding an open house at Absolutely Pawsitive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
She says there will be obedience demonstrations to show people that their dogs can learn social skills that make them pleasant to be around.
“I call it a coffee shop dog,” says Anderson. “A dog that you can take everywhere, and it will be well-behaved for its owners. So we do the basic classes–it’s obedience training for the real world–so owners can take their dog anywhere and have a well-trained dog out in public. We also do competition obedience for anyone who’s interested in showing their dog.”
Absolutely Pawsitive also carries a full line of products for dogs.
There’s dog food and treats that are free of corn, soy and fillers.
There are also dog shampoos and products for your house.
It’s located at 434 National Road in Fulton, just past Fulton Tire.
The open house is Sunday from 10 to 4, with free refreshments and demonstrations.
Drop-ins are welcomed.
They will have hourly drawings and giveaways.
