As more than one thousand players from across the nation descend on the Ohio Valley for the Beast of the East Tournament Baseball Tournament, some other players were just getting started.
On Thursday night Coach Bo McConnaughy, one of the creators of the massive tournament, had another role at the Miracle League Field.
Smiles were as plentiful as the sunshine.
Players of all ages and abilities were given their very own Beast of the East Awards.
The players weren’t there to just take home a trophy.
They grabbed their gloves and bats and with the help of some volunteers, were out on the diamond and the game was underway.
The field itself is made of special material so that wheelchairs, walkers, and other medical devices can be used.
More events are planned later this summer at this Miracle League Field at the I-470 Sports Complex.
