Crews are investigating after an early morning fire ripped through a long-standing business in Adena, Ohio, leaving the building a total loss.
The P&M restaurant and bar has been a staple in the area for nearly 100 years. Fire officials say the building already fully involved when crews arrived on the scene. Four area departments responded and were eventually able to get the fire under control.
Witnesses say that flames could be seen from several miles away.
“I could see it from my house from it smoking up on the hill. Then when we walked across the bridge it was just all up in flames,” said Adena resident, Alex Morris.
According to Adena Fire Chief Jim Horton, no one was in the building when the fire started and there were no injuries reported. He says the cause of the fire has yet to be determined and the State Fire Marshall has been called in to investigate.
