The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted robbery at a local grocery store where two suspects remain on the loose.
It happened about 12:58 p.m. Tuesday at the State Line Store on the West Virginia-Pennsylvania state line on Rt. 40 and National Road in Valley Grove.
According to the sheriff’s office, one of the suspects entered the store during the day, demanding money from the cashier and showing a gun tucked in his pants. When the cashier refused, the suspect fled, according to the sheriff.
Witnesses said they saw the second suspect, the driver, parked down the street in a black or dark colored Chevy Cobalt. The driver then opened the door for the first suspect and the two drove off.
