The man accused of forcefully trying to break into a young Wintersville woman’s home case will be heard by the next Jefferson County grand jury.
Matthew Wilson was arrested on June 30 after being identified by the woman as the man who tried to break in.
During testimony Monday, the woman became very emotional as she described the attempted break in. She say Wilson said he was with the “Wintersville Beautification Committee” (a non-existent group) before threatening her that he was going to come back with a “female officer” to punch her in the nose. She then slammed the door. The woman said she was able to get it shut as Wilson kicked the door and continued to yell.
After describing the man to police, they located someone matching the description. Police drove her to the man’s location, and she was able to identify him.
Judge Michael Bednar continued Wilson’s $250,000 bond.
