Amber Alert Suspect’s Credit Card Used in W.Va.


CHELYAN, WV – A credit card belonging to the suspect in an Amber Alert was used at the Go-Mart and Dollar General in Chelyan, WV.

Christopher M. Derleth is wanted for kidnapping Katherine Derleth, 13, and Christopher Derleth, who is just 22-days-old.

According to Kanawha County Dispatchers, they received the report of the credit card use at 1:46 PM Friday, September 23rd, 2016.

The van is believed to be driven by 39-year-old Christopher M. Derleth, who is accused of kidnapping his 13-year-old step-daughter Katherine and her 3-week-old son, Christopher Ray Derleth. The van has an Illinois license plate, E833210

Katherine is 5 feet tall and 100 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. Christopher is 18-inches long and 8 pounds. The two children may be with Christopher M. Derleth, 39.  He is 6-feet 1-inch tall and weighs 160 pounds.  He has hazel eyes and brown hair. 

The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office has issued Nation Wide Extradition Arrest Warrants for Christopher M. Derleth on charges of Aggravated Kidnapping and Child Abduction.
