America Recycles Day is November 15, and JB Green team is hosting a drive to keep our community beautiful and promote recycling. Right now, the team is collecting and recycling your electronics. Although it is legal to throw away double A batteries, there is a better alternative to just pitching them.
“But there’s still heavy metals in it that rather than going to the ground can be pulled out and reused. Steel can be reused, carbon can be reused out of them. So rather than wasting those resources we want to try to reuse them,” said Tamara Shepherd, the program director for Belmont County office of JB Green Team.
You can drop off old batteries, cell phones, or any kind of re-chargeable batteries between 7am-4pm in their office in Riesbeck’s Plaza in St. Clairsville, or at the Steubenville City building. You can also take the “I Will Recycle pledge” and encourage others to make recycling a part of their daily lives.
