The annual St. Clairsville Kennel Club Dog Show will be held Saturday and Sunday at the Carnes Center in Belmont County.

The show will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. each day.

Dogs can compete in a number of events like confirmation, obedience, and rally.

Almost 500 dogs are entered for each day.

Mixed breed dogs are eligible to enter in the show under a new breed category called the All American Dog.

“You can go online and follow the instructions and register your dog — it’s immediate and you get your American Dog registration number from the AKC, making your dog eligible for events such as lure coursing and obedience –once you’ve had some training!” said Club President Donna Simpson.

One event that is open to All American Dogs is Lure Coursing.

There will be two of those events held on Saturday outside on the lawn of the Carnes Center at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Spectators are welcome to the event.

A portion of the proceeds from the show will be donated to the Belmont County Animal Shelter.
