A fatal shooting in East Wheeling has left the community reeling. Gun shots rang on 15th street leaving Lemroy Coleman dead and Norman Banks injured.
Now Police are trying to track down their suspected shooter Dallas Acoff, who should be considered armed and dangerous.
“Dallas Michael Acoff is currently wanted for murder, he is a 26 year-old male. His current address was in the Wheeling area but he hails from Cleveland,Ohio,” said Chief Shawn Schwertfeger.
Police obtained surveillance video from the American Legion 1419 near the scene, where they say Acoff confronted Lemroy Coleman and Norman Banks at the door. Shortly after, police said Acoff re-entered the bar, then went back outside to fire his shots. They also said, they still need more information from the public to help solve this murder.
“It’s very important that people know for the safety of all of Wheeling, that cooperation is needed, and we’re still looking for any information on any accomplices,” said Schwertfeger.
Monday, police were able to connect Michael Johnson with the murder. According to police reports, Johnson and another man, Rocco Pandoli, were there when the shots were fired and got into a car with Acoff after the crime. Johnson was arraigned in Ohio County for aiding and abetting a murder by Magistrate Joe Roxby and is being held without bond.
The investigation is far from over as police continue to exhaust all their leads.
