The crime of human trafficking has become a $32 billion dollar a year industry. It is now the second largest and fastest growing form of organized crime in the world.
In an effort to inform local people about the dangers of this rapidly growing industry a well known author and human-trafficking expert will be speaking this weekend in Jefferson County.
John C. Pace Jr. has been traveling the county to warn the public about about what he calls “the commercial sex explosion and the threat it poses to communities all across the country.”
Pace will speak at the Brightway Center in Rayland on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. until noon. He says his speech ill focus on how the industry targets college age females.
“Commercial sex has found a home in the suburbs and rural areas. It threatens our families our daughters and suns. I’d like to talk about education and solutions,” Pace Jr. said.
The event is free and open to the public.
