One man is in custody Thursday after leading police on a car chase that spanned two states late Wednesday night.
Police said Jason Ferguson led them on a chase that started in Toronto and ended on Route 22.
Steubenville police were notified of several agencies being in pursuit of a silver Audi driving southbound on Route 7. They were told it would be coming into the city of Steubenville. Ferguson was allegedly involved in two burglaries that night, one in Steubenville and another in Jefferson County.
Officers set up at the Veterans Bridge and Market Street Bridge. After going across the Veterans Bridge to West Virginia, Ferguson was again headed back to Steubenville. While crossing the Market Street Bridge, Ferguson lost control and crashed his car at Third and Market Streets.
Ferguson is charged with burglary in Steubenville. He is also facing charges of speeding, fleeing and reckless driving in Weirton.
Ferguson is also cited for driving under suspension.
A Jefferson County sheriff’s cruiser and a Weirton police cruiser were damaged in the chase.
