Autopsy and Evidence Confirms Events of Monroe County, OH Murder-Suicide


Final autopsy results and forensic evidence show an elderly man shot a 6-year-old, causing her death before killing himself last November, according to authorities.

After a review of all findings between the Monroe County Prosecutor James Peters and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office the evidence supports and confirms that Earl S. Kuhn, 66, shot Bridget Kuhn, 6, causing her death and then turned the gun on himself, according to a new release sent Thursday.

On Nov. 23, 2014 the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting located on Mt. Hope Road near Marr, OH. When they arrived on scene, they found Earl Kuhn and Bridget with gunshot wounds to the head. Earl Kuhn was pronounced dead at the scene and Bridget was flown by helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Unfortunately, two days later on Nov. 25, Bridget lost her battle and passed away as a result of her injuries.

The investigation has been closed.
