Police are investigating a bank robbery in the Ohio Valley Plaza that happened late Monday afternoon.
It happened at the Wood Forest Bank inside the WalMart around 3:30 p.m, according to Sheriff David Lucas.
Lucas said the suspect is about 6’1″ with a large build. He reportedly came into the bank and handed the teller a note asking for an undetermined amount of money. The tellers gave the man the money and he took off.
The suspect was reportedly wearing a gray sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and a hunting-style hat covering part of his face.
He had not been located as of 5:30 p.m., and is believed to be driving a 90’s model silver four-door Buick.
Lucas said they are following any leads they can to find the man. The FBI out of Cambridge traveled to St. Clairsville to assist with the investigation.
Police said the suspect did not have a weapon. They are looking into the possibility of a second person involved, but that person did not enter the bank.
