The 27th annual Beast of the East Baseball tournament begins play this Thursday.
162 teams from all over the eastern United States and Canada will descend on the Ohio Valley. The games will be played on 33 different fields in three different states. Tournament co-director Bo McConnaughy told us why he thinks this tournament has been so successful, “We’re probably the only place where they can get seven to nine games in a four day period, most places they go they’ll pay more than we charge for like three games. But they can come in here and you better have some pitching, you better be ready to play cause there’s some good teams that come in.”
And oh by the way the actual name of this tournament is the Edgar Martin Classic.
