Belmont County Mother Sentenced to Life in Prison for Role in Rape of Minor


The Belmont County mom who pleaded guilty to helping her boyfriend rape a child has been sentenced to life in prison, plus ten years by Judge Frank Fregiato.

37-year-old Jeannie Mae Carpenter pleaded guilty to charges of one count of complicity to commit rape, two counts of permitting child abuse, one count of endangering children, and one count of obstructing official business earlier this month. She will be eligible for parole in 20 years.

The man in the case, 32-year-old James John Kirksey of Wheeling was sentenced to two lifetimes in prison by Judge Frank Fregiato in November.

Judge Fregiato called the case “a crime against nature.”
