More than one hundred athletes were on hand Thursday to take part in the Marshall County Special Olympics.
Thursday’s competition featured track and field events, with medals being awarded to the top finishers.
The weather played havoc with the festivities, which had to be moved indoors because of rain.
Students from John Marshall and Cameron High Schools served as volunteers.
“Mother nature kind of put a little damper on us today but since we got running it’s been ok. Everybody is cooperating very well so we are very blessed to have the schools cooperation in letting us take over the gym and the CPA building,” said Catherine Folmar, co-coordinator of Marshall County Special Olympics.
Special Olympics events have been held in Marshall County for more than twenty years.
