The Bishop Donahue baseball team used a six-run fifth inning to break open a close game in a 12-6 Bishops victory at Paden City in the Class A Regional Semifinal.
Senior ace Jesse Padlow survived a pair of home runs and pitched four innings. Andrew Rush pitched the last three innings. Padlow had two hits and two RBI. Freshman Kolton Elliott singled and homered off Padlow. Levi Meadows hit the other home run, which appeared to have bounced over the fence.
The Bishops advance to the Region 1 championship game where they’ll meet St.Marys on Wednesday at 5:30 in Moundsville.
