Bishop Donahue pulled out an improbable 69-68 overtime victory in the Class A title game at the Wheeling Hospital Boys Basketball Championships at Ohio University Eastern.
The Blue Dons failed to convert free throws in regulation and subsequently, the Bishops made some big shots.
Senior Josh Miller drained a 3-pointer to send the game to overtime. Miller finished with a game-high 23 points
And in the extra period, off a baseline inbound play, senior Jesse Padlow found sophomore Taylor Straughn, who buried a three with :01.7 left. Padlow finished with 21 points, Straughn added 19.
Tavon Jeter led the Blue Dons with 17 points, Jim Carnes and Joey Ewusiak had 17 each.
