Mo’ne Davis wrote a letter to Bloomsburg University asking university administrators to reinstate the baseball player who wrote a derogatory tweet about her, according to ABC News.
Junior baseball player Joey Casselberry was thrown off the Bloomsburg baseball team after tweeting: “Disney is making a movie about Mo’ne Davis? WHAT A JOKE. That sl– got rocked by Nevada.”
ABC News reported Davis told “SportsCenter” on Monday that she wrote a letter asking Bloomsburg to reinstate Casselberry to the baseball team.
“Everyone makes mistakes,” Davis told “SportsCenter”. “Everyone deserves a second chance. I know he didn’t mean it in that type of way. I know people get tired of seeing me on TV. But sometimes you got to think about what you’re doing before you do it.
According to ABC News, Bloomsburg released a statement commending Davis for her maturity, but also stating Casselberry’s dismissal would stand, but his consequences would be reviewed.
