Some parents of students in Shadyside are demanding that the Board of Education take action for complaints made against a member of the school’s administration.
Over the last few weeks, parents have been making complaints against Shadyside Superintendent and High School Principal, John Haswell. The nature of those complaints is being kept private by the Board of Education as they work through their process to determine how to move forward.
Tuesday night those complaints were addressed during the regular Board of Education meeting but it took place during executive session.
“We, as a board, got packets with the complaints, but we cannot meet without a public notice of a meeting, so we couldn’t sit previously to this together to discuss how we were going to handle this. We had to wait to go into executive session and deal with it from there,” said Shadyside Board of Education President, Chuck Klug.
The Board of Education has another meeting scheduled for next Tuesday at 6 p.m.
In the meantime, they will be contacting some of the parents who have voiced their concerns.
All-in-all, Klug hopes they can come to a resolution that is suitable for all parties involved.
