WORTHINGTON, W.Va. (AP) – Authorities searching for a missing woman in northern West Virginia say a body has been found in the West Fork River.

Media outlets report a woman’s body was discovered downriver from the Worthington Dam. Marion County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ralph Wright says search crews found the body Saturday.

Wright says the body of the white female matches the description of 40-year-old Sheila Nethken of Maidsville, who was last seen on Tuesday. Wright says the body has been sent to a hospital for identification and will be transported to the state medical examiner in Charleston for an autopsy.

The Sheriff’s Office says Nethken had been fishing Tuesday evening with a friend when she waded into the water above the falls. She was then swept into the river.
