The man who police believe shot an innocent 13-year-old bystander in an exchange of gunfire in Steubenville’s La Bell neighborhood now has his bond set.
18-year-old Jermaine Crawford made his initial appearance in court Tuesday morning.
He is charged with felonious assault and tampering with evidence, among others.
Witnesses who live in the neighborhood tell us they heard between 10-15 shots fired Tuesday around 6:00 p.m.. His bond was set at $500,000.
“You’re a threat to the community and I would presume a flight risk given the severity of the charges. 500,000 cash surety,” said Judge John Mascio.
Officials say they are still looking for another suspect involved in the shoot out.
Crawford is scheduled to be back in court next Friday for his preliminary hearing.
