Buckeye Merchandise Flying Off Shelves for Monday’s National Championship

Buckeye fans are literally gearing up for Monday night. T-shirts, hats, hoodies and pennants have all been going like hotcakes.

Local businesses have benefited in a big way. In Wheeling, Hole & Run on Washington Avenue has seen a huge spike in sales this past week.

And on the other side of the river it’s been even crazier.

Swan’s Sports Shop on National Road in St. Clairsville has been busy to say the least.

Owner Brad Swan says the gear is going out the door as fast as it comes in.

They have all kinds of merchandise including the popular Wack the Quack shirt.

Swan says if you are looking to grab some last minute gear you might want to get it soon while supplies last.

“The One Not Done Shirts we received just after the Sugar Bowl and we sold those in like two hours,” said Swan. “People aren’t just coming in and buying one or two shirts they are buying three, four, five shirts. So I think the excitement is really growing.”

Swan says that if Ohio State does win they will have the official locker room shirts and hats available the very next day. The National Championship against Oregon is Monday night at 8:30 on ESPN.
