Businesses are Teaming Up to Keep Local Children Warm this Winter

A number of local businesses are teaming up to help children right here in the Ohio Valley stay warm this upcoming winter.

The event is simply called “Warm the Community, Feed the Hungry.”

On Tuesday, 7News spoke to the owner of Rock ‘N Rowdy’s about the new coat and food drive and why he chose to help out.

Rowdy Workman said, “we decided to do this because we learned that 35% of our kids are only eating at school and many of them don’t have warm clothes and its going to get cold. We take care our our own.”

Here’s a look at how you can help out, just drop off any new or gently used coat to Rock ‘N Rowdy’s now until the weekend.

On Saturday October 24th the “Warm the Community, Feed the Hungry” event will be held in the parking lot of the Moundsville Pharmacy along Route 2.

There will be food, entertainment, and plenty of events for children.

Donations are being accepted now and will be given to the Salvation Army later this month.
